Seta‐Inspired Mechano‐Intelligent Janus Bandage with Coordinated Adhesion–Contraction for Minimizing Scarring

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We developed a bioinspired mechano‐intelligent Janus bandage (MIB) with a hydrophobic flat exterior and a hydrophilic interior featuring gecko‐mimicking wedged microstructures, fabricated via micromolding and anisotropic plasma treatment. The MIB dynamically synchronizes adhesion and contraction, enabling precise force modulation.

Study of axial stress formula of embedded bolted joints under eccentric load

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2015
Our objective is to analyze both tensional and bending stress of bolted joints under eccentric load. Especially, our analysis is under four combined conditions as described below, (1) embedded bolted joints, (2) thinner clamped plate, (3) large eccentric

Flexible Dielectric Acoustic Resonator Patch for Tissue Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A flexible dielectric acoustic resonator patch enables MHz‐range ultrasound generation through resonance amplification without using piezoelectric materials. Conformal integration on a curved substrate allows efficient acoustic delivery to tissue‐mimicking environments.

Modelling of fracture problems in quasi-brittle materials by the E-FEM

open access: yes, 2018
In this paper a numerical model with strong discontinuities is presented to address fracture problems in quasi-brittle materials. A non-symmetrical statically and kinematically consistent formulation is implemented.

Topology and Material Optimization in Ultra‐Soft Magneto‐Active Structures: Making Advantage of Residual Anisotropies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Residual magnetization induces pronounced mechanical anisotropy in ultra‐soft magnetorheological elastomers, shaping deformation and actuation even without external magnetic fields. This study introduces a computational‐experimental framework integrating magneto‐mechanical coupling into topology optimization for designing soft magnetic actuators with ...

A Mathematical Model of a Piezo-Resistive Eight-Beam Three-Axis Accelerometer with Simulation and Experimental Validation

open access: yesSensors, 2018
A mathematical model of a sensor is vital to deeply comprehend its working principle and implement its optimal design. However, mathematical models of piezo-resistive eight-beam three-axis accelerometers have rarely been reported.
