Holographic technicolor models and their S-parameter [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2009
We study the Peskin-Takeuchi S-parameter of holographic technicolor models. We present the recipe for computing the parameter in a generalized holographic setup. We then apply it to several holographic models that include: (a) the Sakai-Sugimoto model and (b) its non-compactified cousin, (c) a non-critical analog of (a) based on near extremal AdS_6 ...

Multipole and S-parameter based antenna model [PDF]

open access: yes2010 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2010
Antenna characterization relating voltage sources to radiated fields is an important part of any electromagnetic measurement, with applications ranging from two-way communication systems to full-wave inverse scattering. Here, we derive a two-antenna model relating the multipole expansion of the fields radiated and received by antennas to S-parameter ...

A multistep extrapolated S-parameter model for arbitrary on-chip interconnect structures [PDF]

open access: yes2009 17th IFIP International Conference on Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI-SoC), 2009
Accurate high-frequency interconnect models are needed for the precise estimation of signal delays, crosstalk, and energy losses in complex on-chip communication structures, such as hierarchical bus architectures and networks-on-chip. In this chapter we introduce a computationally-efficient wide-bandwidth characterization method based on an incremental

The oblique S parameter in Higgsless electroweak models [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2012
We present a one-loop calculation of the oblique S parameter within Higgsless models of electroweak symmetry breaking. We have used a general effective Lagrangian with at most two derivatives, implementing the chiral symmetry breaking SU(2)_L x SU(2)_R -> SU(2)_{L+R} with Goldstones, gauge bosons and one multiplet of vector and axial-vector ...

Numerical modeling and simulation technique in time-domain for multibeam echo sounder

open access: yesInternational Journal of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, 2018
A Multibeam Echo Sounder (MBES) is commonly used for rapid seafloor mapping. We herein present a time-domain integrated system simulation technique for MBES development. The Modeling and Simulation (M&S) modules consist of four parts: sensor array signal

Passive Fuzzy Controller Design for the Parameter-Dependent Polynomial Fuzzy Model

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
This paper discusses a passive control issue for Nonlinear Time-Varying (NTV) systems subject to stability and attenuation performance. Based on the modeling approaches of Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model and Linear Parameter-Varying (LPV) model, a ...

Fast Predictive Model of Crystallographic Texture Evolution in Metal Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesCrystals, 2021
This communication introduces a fast material- and process-agnostic modeling approach, not reported in the open literature, that is calibrated for predicting the evolution of texture in metal additive manufacturing of stainless steel 304L as a function ...

$S$ parameter from a prototype composite-Higgs model

open access: yesProceedings of The 38th International Symposium on Lattice Field Theory — PoS(LATTICE2021), 2022
We have calculated the low-energy constant $L_{10}$ in a prototype composite Higgs model with dynamical fermions in two different representations of the gauge group. The resulting contribution of the new strong sector to the $S$ parameter is consistent with current bounds on the vacuum misalignment parameter.

Study on Effect of 3D Printing Parameters on Surface Roughness and Tensile Strength Using Analysis of Variance

open access: yesJournal of Mechanical Engineering Science and Technology, 2023
Fused deposition modeling of 3D printing is the process of making workpieces or parts by adding filaments to each layer. Some indicators of a high-quality product of 3D printing are the precisions dimensions, the surface roughness, and tensile strength ...
