Intra-cellular Staphylococcus aureus alone causes infection in vivo [PDF]
Chronic and recurrent bone infections occur frequently but have not been explained. Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) is often found among chronic and recurrent infections and may be responsible for such infections. One possible reason is that S.

Staphylococcus aureus: salt stress, cell wall deficiency, and Biofílm formation [PDF]
Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) is a major cause of chronic infection and is of particular concern in the infection of implanted prostheses. Biofilm formation offers bacteria innate protection from antimicrobial agents and prevents the eradication of ...

Extrusion‐based bioprinting (EBB) has emerged as a versatile biofabrication platform capable of precisely depositing bioinks composed of biomaterials, cells, and bioactive agents to generate patient‐specific, biomimetic skin constructs. This paper presents a state‐of‐the‐art and forward‐looking overview of EBB for wound healing, encompassing printing ...

The minor groove-binding agent ELB-21 forms multiple interstrand and intrastrand covalent cross-links with duplex DNA and displays potent bactericidal activity against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus [PDF]
Objectives The antistaphylococcal pyrrolobenzodiazepine dimer ELB-21 forms multiple adducts with duplex DNA through covalent interactions with appropriately spaced guanine residues; it is now known to form interstrand and intrastrand adducts with ...

We demonstrated that high humidity worsened psoriasis relapse in murine psoriasiform skin inflammation by increasing skin‐resident memory CD8+ cells via upregulating IL‐15Rα on keratinocytes. The increases in IL‐15Rα and memory CD8+ cells were attributed to S. nepalensis and its metabolite ADMA in skin exposed to high humidity.

Genome sequence survey identifies unique sequences and key virulence genes with unusual rates of amino Acid substitution in bovine Staphylococcus aureus [PDF]
Staphylococcus aureus is a major cause of mastitis in bovine and other ruminant species. We here present the results of a comparative genomic analysis between a bovine mastitis-associated clone, RF122, and the recently sequenced human-associated clones ...

ABSTRACT Periodontitis, a chronic inflammatory disease initiated and sustained by plaque microorganisms and host immune response, remains an intractable oral disease and a leading cause of tooth loss worldwide. Traditional mechanical debridement and adjunctive antibiotic or antiseptic therapy often shows limited efficacy due to the complex anatomical ...

INDUCIBLE CLINDAMYCIN RESISTANCE AMONG CLINICAL ISOLATES OF STAPHYLOCOCCUS AUREUS
Introduction: The resistance to antimicrobial agents among staphylococci is an increasing problem. This has led to renewed interest in the usage of macrolide- lincosamide- streptogramin B (MLSB) antibiotics to treat Staphylococcus aureus infections ...
