An Experience with Severe Leptospirosis (Weil’s Disease): A Case Report

open access: yesChattagram Maa-O-Shishu Hospital Medical College Journal, 2017
Leptospirosis, a zoonotic disease is increasingly being recognized in developing countries. It is often underdiagnosed resulting in significant mortality as the presenting features mimic other commonly prevailing diseases like Malaria, Dengue, Acute hepatitis, Typhoid in developing world. We report a case of 32 yrs old male, sewer worker presented with

Energy‐Efficient Induction Carbonization: Tailoring Pore Structures in Hard Carbon Anodes Toward Enhanced Electrochemical Performance

open access: yesCarbon Energy, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Hard carbon (HC) is currently the predominant anode material for sodium‐ion batteries; however, its practical application is still limited by insufficient initial Coulombic efficiency (ICE) and plateau capacity. Meanwhile, conventional HC production relies on energy‐intensive carbonization processes with considerable carbon emissions. Here, an

Similarities and Differences Between Two Deadly Caribbean Coral Diseases: White Plague and Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science, 2021
For several decades, white plagues (WPDs: WPD-I, II and III) and more recently, stony coral tissue loss disease (SCTLD) have significantly impacted Caribbean corals.

Gray Matter Microstructure Measured Using Diffusion Imaging as a Biomarker of Severity in Lewy Body Diseases

open access: yesMovement Disorders, Volume 41, Issue 9, Page 2310-2324, September 2026.
Abstract Background Despite widespread cortical involvement in Lewy body diseases, conventional gray matter magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) shows limited sensitivity. Diffusion‐weighted MRI‐derived microstructural measures have shown utility in Alzheimer's disease, but their application across the Lewy body disease spectrum remains limited ...

Upper bound for the height of S-integral points on elliptic curves [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We establish new upper bounds for the height of the S-integral points of an elliptic curve. This bound is explicitly given in terms of the set $S$ of places of the number field K involved, but also in terms of the degree of K, as well as the rank, the ...

Convergence of the mirror to a rational elliptic surface

open access: yesTransactions of the London Mathematical Society, 2021
The construction introduced by Gross, Hacking and Keel in (Several Complex Variables (Springer, New York, NY, 1976))allows one to construct a formal mirror family to a pair (S,D) where S is a smooth rational projective surface and D a certain type of ...

On the Weil-étale cohomology of the ring of $S$-integers

open access: yes, 2011
In this article, we first briefly introduce the history of the Weil-étale cohomology theory of arithmetic schemes and review some important results established by Lichtenbaum, Flach and Morin. Next we generalize the Weil-etale cohomology to $S$-integers and compute the cohomology for constant sheaves $\mathbb{Z}$ or $\mathbb{R}$.

Liver Transplantation for HBV‐Related Disease in France: NUC Type Before LT Is Associated With Patient Survival

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 46, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background & Aims Liver transplantation (LT) is indicated for liver complications related to hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection: acute liver failure (ALF), decompensated cirrhosis or hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The present study aimed to describe and evaluate patient survival after LT for HBV‐related disease in France and identify the ...
