Does majority support for minority rights impact perceived norms and psychological well‐being? An application to the LGBTIQ+ context

open access: yesPolitical Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract Several legislative changes following popular votes have transformed the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, and queer (i.e., LGBTIQ+) people. We suggest these decisions to change laws serve as strong signals of public support (i.e., shifting the perceived societal norms), which may not only impact the well‐being of individuals ...

Interactive study of phosphorus and sulfur application in potato for sandy soils

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 8, Issue 2, June 2025.
Abstract Phosphorus (P) and sulfur (S) interaction has been unexplored in the potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) cultivation of Florida sandy soils. This study investigated the potato response to P and S applications regarding yield, quality, and fertilizer use efficiency. The three P (0, 56, and 112 kg P ha−1) rates were applied along with five S rates (0,

Determination of aspartate kinase activity in maize tissues

open access: yesScientia Agricola, 2005
Lysine, threonine, methionine and isoleucine are synthesized from aspartate in a branched pathway in higher plants. Aspartate kinase plays a key role in the control of the aspartate pathway.

A Laser Ablation ICP‐MS Protocol for High‐Resolution Iodine‐to‐Calcium Ratio (I/Ca) Analysis on Corals

open access: yesRapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry, Volume 39, Issue 9, 15 May 2025.
ABSTRACT Rationale Corals are continuous, time‐resolved archives of ambient seawater geochemistry and can extend climate records beyond direct monitoring. The iodine‐to‐calcium (I/Ca) ratio may be a proxy for local oxygen depletion in corals, but the current solution‐based ICP‐MS protocol limits sampling resolution.

An evolutionarily conserved tryptophan cage promotes folding of the extended RNA recognition motif in the hnRNPR‐like protein family

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 34, Issue 5, May 2025.
Abstract The heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) R‐like family is a class of RNA binding proteins in the hnRNP superfamily with diverse functions in RNA processing. Here, we present the 1.90 Å X‐ray crystal structure and solution NMR studies of the first RNA recognition motif (RRM) of human hnRNPR.

Prevalence and Risk Factors of Staphylococcus aureus Nasal Colonization in Horses Admitted to a Veterinary Teaching Hospital

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Volume 39, Issue 3, May/June 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a major cause of nosocomial infections, including in veterinary settings. Hypothesis/Objectives To investigate the prevalence, risk factors for Staphylococcus aureus (SA) and MRSA colonization, and the duration of MRSA colonization.

Silica‐based Materials for Mercury Detection and Removal: A Chelation‐Free Solution

open access: yesChemistry – An Asian Journal, Volume 20, Issue 8, April 17, 2025.
This work presents a chelating ligand‐free approach to the dual‐functional detection and removal of Hg2+ in aqueous media using a new silica‐based material functionalized with pyrene (PySiO2). PySiO2 exhibits high selectivity, sensitivity, and reusability, making it a promising candidate for sustainable water purification.
