A highly-efficient bioconjugation protocol of bimetallic rod-nanotags interacted with bacterial anti-S. aureus-IgG has been firstly demonstrated. Controllable fabrication of multilayer plasmonic nanorod-array (MPNRA) can be successfully obtained by facet functionalization of nanorods stacked on an activated Si/SiO2 chip.

Cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) is a cocktail of charged particles with high antibacterial potency. In this study, we evaluated CAP efficacy generated by Plasma ONE, a mobile medical device against common chronic wound pathogens. Two sets of working saline suspensions, i.e. 105 and 103 CFU/ml of each reference strain E. coli, P. aeruginosa and S. aureus,

Living S. aureus bacteria rheology
2016The rheological characterization of Staphylococcus aureus cultures has shown a complex and rich viscoelastic behavior, during the bacteria population growth, when subject to a shear flow [1,2]. In particular, in stationary shear flow, the viscosity keeps increasing during the exponential phase reaching a maximum value (∼30x the initial value) after ...

AbstractIn this work, bismuth ferrites (BFO) nanoparticles were produced in the form of using sol‐gel technique, followed by annealing in a tube furnace in temperatures from 400 °C to 650 °C. X‐ray diffraction (XRD) results showed the formation of small sizes nanoparticles (NPs) with high purity.

The global challenge of antibiotic resistance necessitates the introduction of more effective antibiotics. Here we report a potentially general design strategy, exemplified with vancomycin, that improves and expands antibiotic performance. Vancomycin is one of the most important antibiotics in use today for the treatment of Gram-positive infections ...
