Immune Consequences of Metabolic Syndrome and Its Treatment: A Cytokine Perspective

Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from individuals with metabolic syndrome (MetS) who were not using glucose‐and/or lipid lowering medication (GLLM) exhibited a broader cytokine production profile after in vitro antigen‐specific stimulation than PBMCs from individuals with MetS using such medications and from healthy donors.
