Increases in skin perfusion and blood oxygen in the non‐exercising human limbs during exercise in the heat: Implications for control of circulation

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Blood flow in the inactive limb tissues and skin is widely thought to decline during incremental exercise to exhaustion due to augmented sympathoadrenal vasoconstrictor activity, but direct evidence to support this view is lacking. Here, we investigated the inactive‐forearm haemodynamic (Q̇forearm${\dot{Q}}_{\mathrm{forearm}}$) and oxygenation

Passive hyperthermia increases blood circulation in specific regions, largely independent of conduit artery mechanics and cardiac performance

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Passive hyperthermia increases net peripheral and systemic blood flow in humans and other animals, yet the underlying haemodynamic forces that selectively accelerate blood movement remain incompletely characterized. Wave intensity analysis offers insight into the respective contributions of the heart and the vascular system to changes in blood

Semaglutide impacts skeletal muscle to a similar extent as caloric restriction in mice with diet‐induced obesity

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Four weeks of semaglutide treatment causes significant reductions in total body weight, fat mass, lean mass, and grip strength in mice with diet induced obesity. Mice treated with semaglutide lost a greater amount of total body weight and fat mass compared to mice fed fed a calorie matched diet.

Influence de la nature des granulats sur le comportement rhéologique du béton à hautes temperatures

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2014
Le béton est largement utilisé comme matériau de structure dans les ouvrages de génie civil tels que les tunnels. La prise en compte du comportement du béton soumis à des températures élevées est apparue dernièrement comme un problème majeur.

Abcc1 deficiency protects from corticosterone but not cortisol‐induced adiposity and insulin resistance in a sex‐specific manner

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend A mouse model of exogenous glucocorticoid (GC) treatment was used to determine (1) if corticosterone induced the same metabolic dysregulation as cortisol, and (2) whether these differences were mediated by the corticosterone‐specific transmembrane exporter Abcc1.

A Mechanistic Model for Predicting and Optimising Oil-Sand Flow in Horizontal Wells Modèle mécanistique pour la prévision et l’optimisation des écoulements huile-sable dans des puits horizontaux

open access: yesOil & Gas Science and Technology, 2011
Smart well completion technology for sand management is being used more and more in the petroleum industry to increase productivity and cumulative hydrocarbon production over that of classical sand control techniques.

Curcumin Nanoformulations for Dermatological Applications: From Nutraceuticals to Nanocarriers

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 3, May 2026.
Nanotechnology‐based delivery platforms enhance the cutaneous administration of curcumin. Loading free curcumin into polymeric micelles, metal‐based nanoparticles, nanogels/hydrogels, liposomes, polymeric nanoparticles, or nanoemulsions/nanocrystals helps address its low solubility, poor stability and limited skin permeation. As a result, these systems

Spatiotemporal Distribution Patterns of Plateau Foxes and Their Lagomorph Prey in Baqing County, Tibet

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
Our study suggests pronounced spatiotemporal niche differentiation as a mechanism facilitating two mesocarnivores' coexistence, and enhances our understanding of the mechanisms underlying sympatric coexistence on the Tibetan Plateau. ABSTRACT Predation by carnivores is a fundamental driver of species evolution, shaping interspecific spatiotemporal ...
