Specificity of intrasaccadic perception: Facial expressions require time
Context and relevance. Notion of functional blindness during saccadic eye movements makes heavy influence upon theory of visual perception. Lack of systemic and comparative studies of the subject played an important role for the problem.

A multi‐paradigm eye‐tracking battery identified oculomotor alterations across normal controls, subthreshold depression, and major depressive disorder, particularly in lateral‐gaze orienting and antisaccade control. Hierarchical joint modeling showed numerically higher internal diagnostic performance, although route differences were imprecisely ...

Visual attention with implications for unilateral spatial neglect. [PDF]
Recent models of visual attention (eg. Rizzolatti et al., 1987) have suggested that a similar system orients visual attention as is used to produce a saccadic eye movement. This thesis provides further support for the link between the attentional and eye

ABSTRACT Objective To assess whether a posturographic assessment of sway misperception (PASM) discriminates persistent postural–perceptual dizziness (PPPD) from peripheral balance disorders. Methods We retrospectively reviewed adults (≥ 18 years) evaluated at Saitama Medical University Hospital between September 2024 and April 2025 with PPPD (Bárány ...

Eye‐tracking was used to investigate saccade, blink, and pupil responses in patients with functional motor disorder (FMD) during an interleaved pro‐/anti‐saccade task. Compared with healthy controls, FMD patients showed increased anti‐saccade error rates and anticipatory saccades, altered blink distribution, and reduced pupil dilation velocity.

Visual, vestibular, and ocular motor changes during nitroglycerin‐triggered vestibular migraine
Plain Language Summary Vestibular migraine (VM) is a common cause of intermittent dizziness, but there have been no studies with provoked (induced) VM used to characterize how the vestibular and ocular (vision) systems interact. We injected 20 patients with VM with nitroglycerin to provoke an attack and used a specialized camera to record their eye ...

Neurophysiological Methods in Accounting and Finance
ABSTRACT Recent advances in neuroscience have made neurophysiological methods increasingly accessible, creating a timely opportunity to rethink how accounting and financial decisions are studied. Yet accounting and finance research has been slow to exploit its full potential.

ABSTRACT When confronted with danger, humans display a range of defensive behaviors, such as freezing and active avoidance. Prior research has identified a distinct physiological response pattern to avoidable threats, characterized by heart rate bradycardia, reduced visual exploration, and suppressed visual alpha activity (8–13 Hz), all of which are ...
