Dissociate triggering of conjunctive and disjunctive eye movements
In natural behavior, our eyes must coordinate two types of movements when looking between points in space: conjunctive movements (where both eyes move together) and disjunctive movements (where the eyes move in opposite direction to change their ...

The frontal eye field (FEF) and superior colliculus (SC) are major and well-studied components of the oculomotor system. The FEF sends strong projections to the SC directly, and neurons in these brain regions transmit a variety of signals related to ...

ABSTRACT We describe a novel homozygous intragenic deletion in the ALS2 gene in an 8‐year‐old boy with Infantile‐onset Ascending Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia (IAHSP) and oculomotor apraxia, thereby contributing to the expanding genetic landscape of ALS2‐related disorders.

Saccadic eye movement related potentials
The saccadic eye movement related potentials (SEMRPs) enable to study brain mechanisms of the sensorimotor integration. SEMRPs provide insight into various cognitive mechanisms related to planning, programming, generation and execution of the saccadic eye movements. SEMRPs can be used to investigate pathophysiological mechanisms of several disorders of

Aims Fazamorexant is a dual orexin receptor antagonist being developed for the treatment of insomnia. This study aims to determine the dose‐exposure‐response relationship of single‐dose fazamorexant vs. zolpidem in young adult and elderly healthy Chinese volunteers. Methods This single‐centre, randomized, double‐blind, double‐dummy, placebo‐ and active‐

Saccadic eye movements in depressed elderly patients. [PDF]
The primary aim of this study was to characterize oculomotor performances in elderly depressed patients. The second aim was to investigate whether cognitive inhibition measured by the antisaccade task was associated with a psychomotor retardation or ...

This study compared expert and novice radiation therapists during surface‐guided radiation therapy (SGRT) setup for head and neck cases using eye tracking. Experts exhibited fewer gaze fixations and concentrated on specific screens during the latter half of positioning, suggesting that they efficiently identified key positioning points.

Counterproductive effect of saccadic suppression during attention shifts. [PDF]
During saccadic eye movements, the processing of visual information is transiently interrupted by a mechanism known as "saccadic suppression" [1] that is thought to ensure perceptual stability [2]. If, as proposed in the premotor theory of attention [3],

Vestibular Dysfunction in Parkinson's Disease: A Systematic Review of Signs and Symptoms
Abstract Background Despite the growing interest in the link between Parkinson's disease (PD) neuropathology and vestibular system, there is still a lack of consensus about the presence of vestibular dysfunctions in PD. Objective This review aims to identify vestibular signs and symptoms reported in PD patients and to summarize and critically appraise ...
