WRKY Transcription Factors: Integral Regulators of Defence Responses to Biotic Stress in Crops
ABSTRACT Crops are continually challenged by biotic stresses, including fungal, bacterial and viral pathogens and insect pests, which cause substantial yield and quality losses worldwide. WRKY transcription factors constitute a plant‐specific and functionally diverse family that is central to immune regulation.

This study, led by the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, tracks survival and examines causes of adult moose mortality from 2010 to 2022 on the Grand Portage Indian Reservation and in Voyageurs National Park. Using a Bayesian framework, we integrated multiple contributing factors to accurately estimate cause‐specific mortality probabilities ...

Analysis of biomass traits in sugarcane (Saccharum spp. hybrids) [PDF]
Sugarcane is a C4 perennial grass able to efficiently convert light energy into biomass. Bagasse, the fibrous waste product of sugar production, and biomass from high-fiber sugarcane varieties are important feedstocks for replacing fossil carbon in the production of fuels and other chemicals.

Variability, heritability and genetic advance in sugarcane ( Saccharum spp. hybrid) genotypes
The study was carried out with the aim of estimating variability, heritability, and genetic advance for 196 sugarcane genotypes. Results of the analysis of variance identified a very highly significant variation among the genotypes in all the traits evaluated.

A Sugarcane G-Protein-Coupled Receptor, ShGPCR1, Confers Tolerance to Multiple Abiotic Stresses
Sugarcane (Saccharum spp.) is a prominent source of sugar and serves as bioenergy/biomass feedstock globally. Multiple biotic and abiotic stresses, including drought, salinity, and cold, adversely affect sugarcane yield.

The Sugarcane genome sequencing effort: An overview of the strategy, goals and existing data : [Abstract W538] [PDF]
Sugarcane is a major feedstock used for biofuel production worldwide. Sugarcane cultivars (Saccharum spp) are derived from interspecific hybridization obtained a century ago by crossing Saccharum officinarum (2n=8x=80) and S.

Yellow canopy syndrome of sugarcane: A review of current knowledge and future research directions
Yellow Canopy Syndrome (YCS) is a complex issue affecting commercial sugarcane in Australia, first identified in Far North Queensland over a decade ago. It has spread across most cane‐growing regions in Queensland and poses a significant threat to the global sugarcane industry.

Characterization of sugarcane (Saccharum spp.) leaf senescence: implications for biofuel production [PDF]
