Market orientation and national homicide rates
Abstract We studied the influence of market orientation on national homicide rates. Multiple theoretical traditions equate the development and dominance of markets with higher crime rates. Some traditional sociological theoretical claims, however, suggest market expansion should reduce violence.

Abstract Scholars have tended to interpret Thomas Nettleton's bestselling Virtue and Happiness (1729) as an Epicurean work. In contrast, I argue that this book was constructed partly from extensive paraphrases of the writings of Locke, Shaftesbury, and Hutcheson.

Long‐term monitoring has revealed hybridisation attempts between the Critically Endangered Kuaka Whenua Hou (KWH, Pelecanoides whenuahouensis) and the abundant Kuaka (P. urinatrix). Here we use modelling based on population monitoring data in tandem with genomic data to investigate these attempts and the risk they pose to KWH recovery.
