Sacroiliac joint tuberculosis [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Orthopaedics, 2006
Infections of the sacroiliac joint are uncommon and the diagnosis is usually delayed. In a retrospective study, 17 patients who had been treated for tuberculosis sacroiliitis between 1994 and 2004 were reviewed. Two patients were excluded due to a short follow-up (less than 2 years).

Symphyseal fixation in open book injuries cannot fully compensate anterior SI joint injury-A biomechanical study in a two-leg alternating load model. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
In open book injuries type Tile B1.1 or B1.2 also classified as APC II (anteroposterior compression), it remains controversial, if a fixation of the anterior ring provides sufficient stability or a fixation of the posterior ring should be included ...

Modified triangular osteosynthesis in the treatment of bilateral sacroiliac joint dislocation

open access: yesTrauma Case Reports, 2023
Bilateral sacroiliac joint dislocation is a rare injury associated with rotational and vertical instability of the pelvic ring. The ideal strategy for the reduction and fixation of this injury is poorly described in the current literature.

Influence of activities in the comprehensive community sport clubs on the mental health of children : With special reference to the enjoyment [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
textabstractThis study deals primarily with the stability of the base of the spine. The sacroiliac joints are vulnerable to shear loading on account of their predominantly flat surfaces. This raises the question of what mechanisms are brought into action

Impact of age, sex, and joint form on degenerative lesions of the sacroiliac joints on CT in the normal population

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Degeneration of the sacroiliac joints (SIJs) is a common finding, while its underlying cause and development remain incompletely understood. The aim of this investigation was to describe the spatial distribution of degenerative SIJ changes across age ...

Monosodium urate crystal deposition associated with the progress of radiographic grade at the sacroiliac joint in axial SpA: a dual-energy CT study

open access: yesArthritis Research & Therapy, 2017
Background Previous studies have revealed that ankylosing spondylitis (AS), as the progenitor of axial spondyloarthritis (AxSpA), has been characterized by the insidiously progressive nature of sacroiliitis and spondylitis.

A Randomized Controlled Trial of Fluoroscopically-Guided Sacroiliac Joint Injections: A Comparison of the Posteroanterior and Classical Oblique Techniques [PDF]

open access: yesNeurospine, 2019
Objective The sacroiliac joint can be a primary source of pain or part of multifactorial syndromes. As there is no single historical, physical examination-based, or radiological feature that definitively establishes a diagnosis of sacroiliac joint pain ...
