On the subdifferential of a saddle function

open access: yesJournal of Functional Analysis, 1972
AbstractLet K be a closed proper saddle function defined on the product Y × Z of two Banach spaces, at least one of which is reflexive. Two results about the Subdifferential ∂K of K are presented. The first asserts that the domain of ∂K is dense in the domain of K, a property which has been conjectured by R. T. Rockafellar. The second is concerned with

Exploration of Oxygen Reduction Reaction Catalyzed by FePPc and Pz‐FeTPr Conjugated Organic Polymer: Insights From Grand‐Canonical Density Functional Theory

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
At alkaline conditions (pH = 13), for FePPc and Pz‐FeTPr at low potential (less than 0.5 V), the ORR mechanism is the *O2 mechanism (O2→∗O2→∗OOH→∗O→∗OH→H2O${{\rm{O}}_2} \to ^*{O_2} \to ^*OOH \to ^*O \to ^*OH \to {H_2}O$), Fe is the active site; for Pz‐FeTPr at high potential (larger than 0.5 V), the Fe site is covered by O2−$O_2^ - $, the nearby C site

Development of Two Pommel Mushrooms for Men's Artistic Gymnastics

open access: yesJournal of Physical Education Health and Sport, 2020
The purpose of this research was to see if the two-saddle mold device could be used asa means of training an athlete in overcoming the difficulty of mastering a sirkel movement on the saddle.

Resistance Drift of Phase Change Materials Beyond the Power Law

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The timedependent resistance of phase change materials is important for their application as electronic memory. Here, resistance measurements of melt‐quenched germanium telluride from nanoseconds to minutes are presented. By going far beyond the usually considered measurement regime, deviations from the ubiquitous power law behavior are observed, that ...

On the Mechanism of Soft Self‐Assembly from Melt: The Ubiquitous Heat Capacity Hump and Spontaneous Melt Chirality

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Phase transition from melt to most complex liquid crystal (LC) phases is weak 1st order but is preceded by a large heat capacity maximum. In addition, a chiral liquid forms through another transition before that to the LC, despite the compounds being achiral.

Alternative Reconstruction of a First Century AD Roman Cavalry Saddle

open access: yesEXARC Journal, 2021
The reconstruction of a First Century AD Roman cavalry saddle has not been investigated since Peter Connolly introduced his ideas of a wooden tree saddle in 1984, based on the evidence and dimensions provided by archaeological finds of leather saddle ...

Diffusion Characteristics of Ru and Oxygen Vacancies in Ta2O5 for Resistive Random Access Memory Devices: A Density Functional Theory Investigation

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Atomistic analysis of ruthenium (Ru) and oxygen vacancy (OV) diffusion in Ta₂O₅‐based memristors is performed. DFT calculations demonstrate interstitial Ru in Ta₂O₅ has lower diffusion barriers and formation energies than OVs, enhancing mobility and stability.

Rhodium‐Catalyzed Intermolecular Arylative [2 + 2 + 1] Annulation–Oxidation to Produce Electron‐Deficient Azulene‐Embedded Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The synthesis of electron‐deficient azulene‐embedded polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons has been achieved by the rhodium‐catalyzed intermolecular arylative [2 + 2 + 1] annulation of teraryl diynes with dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates followed by oxidation at room temperature.
