Krylov complexity in saddle-dominated scrambling [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
In semi-classical systems, the exponential growth of the out-of-time-order correlator (OTOC) is believed to be the hallmark of quantum chaos. However, on several occasions, it has been argued that, even in integrable systems, OTOC can grow exponentially ...

Stabilizing saddles

Physical Review E, 2013
A synergetic control technique for stabilizing a priori unknown saddle steady states of dynamical systems is described. The method involves an unstable filter technique combined with a derivative feedback. The cut-off frequency of the filter is not limited by the damping of the system, and therefore can be set relatively high.

High-Index Optimization-Based Shrinking Dimer Method for Finding High-Index Saddle Points

SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing, 2019
We present a high-index optimization-based shrinking dimer (HiOSD) method to compute index-$k$ saddle points as a generalization of the optimization-based shrinking dimer method for index-1 saddle ...

The Saddle Bridge

Archives of Dermatology, 1965
ON OCCASION it is important to avoid irritation of the skin under spectacle nose pads. Epitheliomas and keratoses particularly arise in this area on the lateral upper nose. Following surgical or radiation treatment it is especially necessary to avoid pressure to promote healing.

Saddle Nasal Deformity

Clinics in Plastic Surgery, 1988
Correction of the saddle nasal deformity requires generous elevation and mobilization of the overlying soft tissue, the restoration of skeletal support, and the provision of nasal mucosa lining ("the forgotten link"). For moderate to severe saddle deformities, calvarial bone grafts serve well to reconstruct the disrupted skeletal framework.
