InstaMap: instant‐NGP for cryo‐EM density maps
Cryo‐EM density‐map inference, with fixed pose and contrast transfer function, using a multi‐resolution hash‐encoding framework called instant‐NGP, is described, together with its extension to heterogeneity inference by bending space with a per‐image vector field.Despite the parallels between problems in computer vision and cryo‐electron microscopy ...

Abstract This contribution covers the variational‐based modeling of non‐dissipative magneto‐mechanical systems using a vector potential approach and the thorough analysis and discussion of corresponding conforming finite element methods. Since the construction of divergence‐free finite element spaces explicitly enforcing the Coulomb gauge poses some ...

Estimation and simulation in directional and statistical shape models [PDF]
This thesis is concerned with problems in two related areas of statistical shape analysis in two dimensional landmarks data and directional statistics in various sample spaces.

Singlet fission (SF) is a promising pathway to generate multiple charge carriers from a single photon. Possible applications reach from photovolatic cells to quantum computing. A key intermediate in the process is the singlet‐coupled triplet pair or multi‐excitonic (ME) state.

Tail Exactness of Multivariate Saddlepoint Approximations [PDF]
We consider a log‐concave density f in Rm satisfying certain weak conditions, particularly on the Hessian matrix of log f. For such a density, we prove tail exactness of the multivariate saddlepoint approximation. The proof is based on a local limit theorem for the exponential family generated by f.

Approximation for probability of coverage in softly inhibitive cellular networks
The author mainly develops an analytically tractable distribution of empty space distance and explores the PGFL's upper bound for stationary Strauss point processes. These findings significantly simplify the derivation of the Laplace transform of cumulative interference as well as the overall probability of coverage in Strauss‐modelled cellular ...

The Empirical Saddlepoint Approximation for GMM Estimators
The empirical saddlepoint distribution provides an approximation to the sampling distributions for the GMM parameter estimates and the statistics that test the overidentifying restrictions.

Stochastic credibility and optimal monetary policy
Abstract In this paper, I study optimal monetary policy in a simple New Keynesian model with loose commitment and stochastic credibility. The loose commitment framework breaks the commitment‐discretion dichotomy in optimal monetary policy problems and allows for intermediate cases between commitment and discretion.

Saddlepoint approximations to sensitivities of tail probabilities of random sums and comparisons with Monte Carlo estimators [PDF]
This article proposes computing sensitivities of upper tail probabilities of random sums by the saddlepoint approximation. The considered sensitivity is the derivative of the upper tail probability with respect to the parameter of the summation index ...
