The tumor suppressive effect and apoptotic mechanism of TRAIL gene-containing recombinant NDV in TRAIL-resistant colorectal cancer HT-29 cells and TRAIL-nonresistant HCT116 cells, with each cell bearing a mouse model. [PDF]

open access: yesCancer Med, 2023
Abstract Background TRAIL is an anticancer drug that induces cancer cell apoptosis by interacting with death receptors (DRs). However, owing to low cell‐surface expression of DRs, certain colorectal cancer (CRC) cells resist TRAIL‐induced apoptosis. Newcastle disease virus (NDV) infection can elevate DR protein expression in cancer cells, potentially ...

Rewiring Steroidal Metabolic Pathways for Diosgenin Production in Solanum nigrum. [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Biotechnol J
ABSTRACT Diosgenin is a key starting material for the synthesis of steroidal drugs, such as corticosteroids and sex hormones. While the primary commercial source of diosgenin is the tubers of Dioscorea spp., identifying alternative plant hosts capable of diosgenin biosynthesis could enhance its production.

Two pathogen loci determine Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici virulence to wheat resistance gene Pm1a

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 238, Issue 4, Page 1546-1561, May 2023., 2023
Summary Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici (Bgt) is a globally important fungal pathogen of wheat that can rapidly evolve to defeat wheat powdery mildew (Pm) resistance genes. Despite periodic regional deployment of the Pm1a resistance gene in US wheat production, Bgt strains that overcome Pm1a have been notably nonpersistent in the United States, while ...

The impact of trade with pure exporters

open access: yesReview of International Economics, Volume 30, Issue 1, Page 83-112, February 2022., 2022
Abstract We extend the Melitz model to include pure exporters and study how they influence economic performance. We find that the presence of pure exporters lowers the productivity premium of exporters. Moreover, if there is a large portion of pure exporters, then international trade lowers the average productivity, but not welfare.

Power and Area Efficient Cascaded Effectless GDI Approximate Adder for Accelerating Multimedia Applications Using Deep Learning Model

open access: yesComputational Intelligence and Neuroscience, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Approximate computing is an upsurging technique to accelerate the process through less computational effort while keeping admissible accuracy of error‐tolerant applications such as multimedia and deep learning. Inheritance properties of the deep learning process aid the designer to abridge the circuitry and also to increase the computation speed at the

Biological Flora of the British Isles: Salvia pratensis

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 109, Issue 12, Page 4171-4190, December 2021., 2021
Salvia pratensis L. (Meadow Clary) is rare in the British Isles, confined largely to fragmented unimproved pasture, hay meadows and grassy verges over calcareous soils. Agricultural intensification and changes in land management have caused a decline in the species over the past century, but more recent legal protection and conservation efforts ...

METHOD OF DEFINITION OF NEEDS OF SAET OF ROSPOTREBNADZOR FOR DIAGNOSTIC MEDICINES DURING PUBLIC EVENTS

open access: yesЗДОРОВЬЕ НАСЕЛЕНИЯ И СРЕДА ОБИТАНИЯ - ЗНиСО / PUBLIC HEALTH AND LIFE ENVIRONMENT, 2017
In the article the new approach for definition of needs of a specialized anti-epidemic team (SAET) of Rospotrebnadzor for test systems for specific indication of pathogenic biological agents on epidemic indications during public events based on division of the infections into 3 levels according to evaluation criteria (questions) developed on the basis ...
