Genetic diversity and molecular phylogeographic analysis of an alien praying mantis, Hierodula chinensis, in Japan

open access: yesEntomological Science, Volume 29, Issue 1, March 2026.
Analysis of the COI gene in 127 individuals of Hierodula chinensis from 40 sites in Japan revealed 18 haplotypes that clustered into two genetically distinct clades. Thirteen haplotypes were each detected in only a single prefecture, whereas five haplotypes were found across multiple prefectures. Abstract Hierodula chinensis Werner (Mantodea: Mantidae),

Infant Diet Is Associated With BMI Later in Childhood: A Nation‐Wide Mother‐Child Cohort Study in Iceland (ICE‐MCH)

open access: yesMaternal &Child Nutrition, Volume 22, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Few studies have explored associations between indexes incorporating both breastfeeding and complementary feeding and future risk of overweight/obesity. The aim of this study was to explore associations between a previously developed Infant Diet Score (IDS; higher score reflecting better alignment with breastfeeding and complementary feeding ...

High‐Resolution Satellite Imagery Mapping of the Surface Rupture and Slip Distribution of the Sagaing Fault in the 28 March 2025 Mw 7.7 Earthquake, Myanmar

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 3, 16 February 2026.
Abstract On 28 March 2025, a Mw 7.7 earthquake occurred on the Sagaing Fault in Myanmar. Security constraints prevented timely field investigations on its surface rupture, hindering analysis of seismotectonics and rupture dynamics. Using high‐resolution satellite imagery, we mapped a ∼420 km surface rupture and measured 540 dextral offsets, revealing ...

Abrupt Along‐Strike Change of Shallow Seismicity in Central and Southern Myanmar: Insights From High‐Resolution Local‐Earthquake Catalogs and Focal Mechanisms

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 3, 16 February 2026.
Abstract Myanmar's high seismic hazard is underscored by the 2025 Mw 7.7 earthquake on the Sagaing Fault, yet its seismicity patterns and underlying controls remain poorly understood. Using new seismic data from the 2nd‐phase array of the China‐Myanmar Geophysical Survey in the Myanmar Orogen, we construct a high‐resolution catalog of 1,819 local ...

Coulomb Pre‐Stress Changes Modulate Coseismic Rupture Kinematics of the 2025 Mw7.7 Myanmar Earthquake Revealed by Space Geodesy

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 3, 16 February 2026.
Abstract We estimate the fault geometry and coseismic slip of the 2025 Myanmar earthquake using multi‐source satellite observations, revealing a nine‐segment rupture structure that transitions from eastward‐dipping in the north to westward‐dipping in the south, with peak slip of ∼6 m and negligible shallow slip deficit.

Spider Silk–Integrated Biomimetic Micropillars With Dual Adhesion for Improved Wound Hemostasis and Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 11, Issue 3, 5 February 2026.
The patch mimics the dual physicochemical adhesion mechanisms of gecko toe micropillars and spider silk proteins, enabling strong interfacial bonding via partially cured micropillars. Its facile fabrication allows customization for precision medicine, while its motion responsiveness offers potential for real‐time wound monitoring.
