Tooth Wear Severity and Temporomandibular Joint Degenerative Findings on Cone‐Beam Computed Tomography: A Cross‐Sectional Study in Adults

In 80 adults with TMD symptoms (160 joints), tooth wear was scored clinically and TMJ degeneration was assessed on CBCT. Adjusted analyses showed no association with osteophytes, erosion, subchondral cysts, or definite osteoarthritis, indicating that tooth wear alone does not predict TMJ degeneration.

He exhibited generalized dental caries, dental staining, cervical lesions, fremitus, and anterior wear. After declining tooth‐retaining options, he elected full‐mouth extractions with immediately loaded implant‐supported prostheses.
