Sagittal Plane Corrections around the Knee

The Journal of Knee Surgery, 2017
AbstractStability of the knee joint depends on soft tissues integrity and bony balance in the frontal and sagittal planes during gait. Although frontal plane imbalance is a well-known knee pathology, commonly treated by high tibial osteotomy, sagittal plane imbalance is less common, with fewer and more challenging surgical treatment options.

Arthroscopic Assessment of Syndesmotic Instability in the Sagittal Plane in a Cadaveric Model

Foot & ankle international, 2020
Background: Syndesmotic instability is multidirectional, occurring in the coronal, sagittal, and rotational planes. Despite the multitude of studies examining such instability in the coronal plane, other studies have highlighted that syndesmotic ...

Remodeling of Sagittal Plane Malunion After Pediatric Supracondylar Humerus Fractures

Journal of pediatric orthopedics, 2020
Background: Pediatric supracondylar humeral fractures (SCHFs) can heal in hyperextension malunion after casting or surgical treatment. Here the authors present quantitative evidence concerning the ability of children to remodel sagittal plane malunion ...

Model Decoupling and Control of the Wheeled Humanoid Robot Moving in Sagittal Plane

IEEE-RAS International Conference on Humanoid Robots, 2019
The wheeled humanoid robot is such a new type of robot that combines both the humanoid structure and the Wheeled Inverted Pendulum (WIP) base. They are able to move rapidly on flat ground as well as stand still on the slope, which has been well ...

The Effect of Implant Design on Sagittal Plane Stability: A Randomized Trial of Medial- versus Posterior-Stabilized Total Knee Arthroplasty

The journal of knee surgery, 2019
Up to 20% of total knee arthroplasty (TKA) patients report dissatisfaction with their outcome, especially with weight-bearing in flexion (WBiF) activities. Sagittal plane instability may contribute to dissatisfaction following TKA. We assessed the impact

Sagittal plane laxity following knee arthroplasty

The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. British volume, 1991
We measured the sagittal laxity in 70 knee replacements at least six months after surgery, using a KT 1000 arthrometer. With an unconstrained prosthesis (the Oxford meniscal knee) anteroposterior stability was normal in joints known to have intact cruciate ligaments. There was increased laxity in those which lacked an anterior cruciate ligament.

Sagittal Plane Correction in Idiopathic Scoliosis

Spine, 2002
Patients with idiopathic scoliosis who had undergone posterior fusion by means of posterior multisegmented hook instrumentation were studied retrospectively. To present the changes in projected thoracic hypokyphosis and the behavior of lumbar lordosis within and below the fusion.Scoliosis is a three-dimensional deformity of the spine.

Sagittal Plane Deformity During Femoral Lengthening

Orthopedics, 2011
The purpose of this study was to determine the incidence and degree of sagittal plane deformity that occurs during limb lengthening of the femur. Twenty-one patients (25 limbs) were identified who underwent femoral lengthening. The limbs were lengthened a mean of 6.1 cm, and mean follow-up was 1.5 years.

Evolution of Sagittal Imbalance Following Corrective Surgery for Sagittal Plane Deformity

Neurosurgery, 2017
Abstract BACKGROUND: Sagittal balance in adult spinal deformity is a major predictor of quality of life. A temporary loss of paraspinal muscle force and somatic pain following spine surgery may limit a patient's ability to maintain posture. OBJECTIVE: To assess the evolution of
