Stretch-legged walking in sagittal plane

2007 7th IEEE-RAS International Conference on Humanoid Robots, 2007
This paper presents a new forward walking pattern known as stretch-legged walking. Additionally, what has been termed the Walking Guide Platform (WGP) was developed to verify the developed walking pattern. For the WGP, a robot that can move in a sagittal plane was created. Next, a guide system and treadmill were developed.

Isometric pull forces in the sagittal plane

Applied Ergonomics, 1998
This paper investigates the differences in maximal isometric horizontal pull forces in the sagittal plane about a frontal plane work envelope. Eight subjects produced maximal isometric horizontal pulls about 32 positions in the frontal for each of three different postural conditions: free standing, fixed standing and seated.

Human gait recognition at sagittal plane

Image and Vision Computing, 2007
The reliable extraction of characteristic gait features from image sequences and their recognition are two important issues in gait recognition. In this paper, we propose a novel two-step, model-based approach to gait recognition by employing a five-link biped locomotion human model.

Lifting low-lying loads in the sagittal plane

Ergonomics, 1992
A simple geometrical model was employed to investigate various elementary techniques during static, sagittal plane lifts. Relationships between the various joint reaction forces were deduced. In particular, it was found that it is possible to simultaneously increase (or decrease) both knee and low back forces.

Computer-Assisted Assessment of Spinal Sagittal Plane Radiographs

Journal of Spinal Disorders, 2001
The sagittal shape of the spine, particularly its sagittal balance, currently is being extensively investigated. The major purpose of this study is to examine the measurement repeatability of SpineView software, which calculates 13 independent variables, to shorten and facilitate the measurement of lateral spinal radiographs; another purpose is to ...

Sagittal Plane Deformity Surgery (VCR) Complication

2017
Surgery for adult spinal deformity (ASD) remains a technically challenging undertaking. Improvements in surgical techniques, instrumentation, and perioperative management have enabled correction of increasingly more complex multiplanar deformities. The surgical treatment of fixed sagittal plane deformities typically involves multilevel instrumentation ...

Sagittal Plane Deformities and Malorientation Test

2018
The knee joint moves in the sagittal plane. For that reason, the knee, hip, and ankle alignment on the sagittal plane varies in walking phases. Although we use the static deformity analysis on the frontal plane, dynamic factors have to be considered for determining sagittal plane deformities.

Sagittal Plane Deformities in Growing Children

2011
During the fetal period, the sagittal profile of the spine is C-shaped. After birth, the spine straightens and when the child is standing, a lumbar lordosis is formed, which is compensated by the new formation of a thoracic kyphosis.
