Contextual effects of color on food choices: Red ambient color induces indulgence

open access: yesJournal of Consumer Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract This research examines how red ambient color in restaurants/cafeterias influences food choices. Prior research shows that red directly related to a food product (such as on nutrition labels or plates/cups) leads to avoidance of unhealthy foods.

Properties of H2O Masers and Their Associated Sources in Sagittarius B2

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present high-resolution Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array observations of the 22 GHz H _2 O maser line in the extended Sagittarius B2 cloud. We detect 499 H _2 O masers across the observed velocities between −39 and 172 km s ^−1 .

The inner 300 parsecs of the Milky Way seen by H.E.S.S.: a Pevatron in the Galactic Centre

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
The Galactic Centre region has been observed by the High Energy Stereoscopic System (H.E.S.S.) array of ground-based Cherenkov telescopes since 2004 leading to the detection of the very-high-energy γ-ray source HESS J1745-290 spatially coincident with ...

Selecting performance indicators for farms and ranches engaged in collaborative agroecosystem research

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Quality, EarlyView.
Abstract The pace of global change complicates the assessment of the outcomes of agricultural management, hindering decision‐making by producers, researchers, and consumers. The Long‐Term Agroecosystem Research Network (LTAR) is in a unique position to advance monitoring to inform decision‐making.

First Southern Hemisphere Record of Priacanthus zaiserae (Perciformes: Priacanthidae) from Queensland, Australia

open access: yesSpecies Diversity
A single priacanthid specimen (129.4 mm in standard length), collected off Cape Moreton, Queensland, Australia at a depth of 109.7 m, was identified as Priacanthus zaiserae Starnes and Moyer, 1988 (Priacanthidae), being characterized by 13 dorsal-fin ...

Bounds on ultralight bosons from the Event Horizon Telescope observation of Sgr A $$^*$$ ∗

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
Recent observation of Sagittarius A $$^*$$ ∗ (Sgr A $$^*$$ ∗ ) by the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) collaboration has uncovered various unanswered questions in black hole (BH) physics.

Modelling erratic dispersal accounting for shifting ice flow geometries: A new method and explanations of erratic dispersal of the British–Irish Ice Sheet

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Glacial erratics are geologically distinctive rocks transported away from their source area by ice sheets and deposited in lithologically different bedrock areas. They have attracted much scientific curiosity with >24 000 observations across the British Isles.

Prospects of Detecting a Jet in Sagittarius A* with Very-long-baseline Interferometry

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) images of the horizon-scale emission around the Galactic center supermassive black hole Sagittarius A* (Sgr A*) favor accretion flow models with a jet component. However, this jet has not been conclusively detected.

Spectroscopy of Red Giants in the globular cluster Terzan 8: kinematics and evidence for the surrounding Sagittarius stream

open access: yes, 2014
We present the results of a spectroscopic survey of Red Giants in the globular cluster Terzan 8 with the aim of studying its kinematics. We derived accurate radial velocities for 82 stars located in the innermost 7 arcmin from the cluster center ...
