Optimal STATCOM allocation and sizing using the sailfish optimizer algorithm

2020 IEEE 7th Uttar Pradesh Section International Conference on Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering (UPCON), 2020
In this paper, a recent optimization algorithm called sailfish optimizer algorithm (SFOA) is introduced to locate the suitable position and rating of a static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) in a 14 bus IEEE interconnected transmission network to improve voltage profile, and minimize the total real power losses (TRPL) of the system by considering ...

Age and growth of larval Atlantic sailfish, Istiophorus platypterus

Marine and Freshwater Research, 2005
Of the Atlantic istiophorid billfishes, larval age–size relationships and growth rates have been examined only for blue marlin (Makaira nigricans). Using otolith microincrement analysis, we describe age–length and age–weight relationships for larval sailfish (Istiophorus platypterus) collected from the Straits of Florida.

Sailfish Hunting Optimization Algorithm

This paper proposes a heuristic optimization algorithm based on sailfish hunting behavior—the Sailfish Hunting Heuristic Optimization (SHO). This algorithm fully simulates the behavioral characteristics of sailfish in the marine environment, including prey pursuit, target selection, group collaboration, and high-speed strategy switching. By abstracting
