Dimensionally Consistent Torsional-Stiffness Modeling for Long Flexible Wind-Turbine Blades Using the Variational Asymptotic Method

open access: yesEnergies
With the increasing size of wind turbines and the trend toward longer and more flexible blades, the aeroelastic response of blades has become significant. To achieve efficient and high-fidelity modeling, a new approach is required.

On Saint-Venant's Problem for an Inhomogeneous, Anisotropic Cylinder-Part I: Methodology for Saint-Venant Solutions

open access: yes, 2020
In this paper, the first in a series of three, a procedure based on semi-analytical finite elements is presented for constructing Saint-Venant solutions for extension, bending, torsion ...

Saint-Venant torsion analysis of bars with rectangular cross-section and effective coating layers

open access: yes, 2016
This paper investigates the torsion analysis of coated bars with a rectangular cross-section. Two opposite faces of a bar are coated by two isotropic layers with different materials of the original substrate that are perfectly bonded to the bar. With the

Engineering application of physics-informed neural networks for Saint-Venant torsion

open access: yesCoRR
The Saint-Venant torsion theory is a classical theory for analyzing the torsional behavior of structural components, and it remains critically important in modern computational design workflows. Conventional numerical methods, including the finite element method (FEM), typically rely on mesh-based approaches to obtain approximate solutions.

Solusi Numerik Persamaan Saint Venant pada Kanal Terbuka

open access: yes, 2016

Simple solutions of Saint-Venant torsion problem by using Tchebycheff polynomials [PDF]

open access: yesQuarterly of Applied Mathematics, 1956
By using Tchebycheff polynomials, various forms of the stress functions associated with torsion problems have been obtained. The method can be applied for various types of cross sections. It is well known that these problems can be solved by other methods, but the method presented here gives a simple and direct solution in many cases.
