Asymptotic Stability of Steady-states for Saint-Venant Equations with Real Viscosity

We deal with the viscous Saint-Venant model and analyze the stability of stationary steady states. We skip all of the technical details of the analysis, stressing only the kind of result we are able to prove at the present and the main lines of the proof.

Solution of the inverse problem for the Saint Venant equations

Abstract This paper presents the formulation of the inverse problem for the Saint Venant equations. It appears that this problem can be posed only for subcritical channel flow. The equations of unsteady flow are integrated in the domain 0 ≤ t ≤ T and x ≤ 0 and solved using an implicit four-point difference scheme.
