Biodegradation ofShorea robusta Gaertn. leaf litter and the cycling of minerals in a tropical sal forest

Plant and Soil, 1984
Microbial degradation of the leaf litter ofShorea robusta Gaertn. was studied for a period of one year. The changes in the major litter constituents like sugar, starch, hemicellulose, cellulose and lignin were analysed from the litter kept under the nylon bags, at a month's interval.

Zircon uranium-lead and thorium-lead ages and mineral potassium-argon ages of La Sal Mountains rocks, Utah

Journal of Geophysical Research, 1965
K-Ar ages of 23 and 26 m.y. for pyroxene and Pb206/U238 ages of 32 m.y. for zircon were determined for monzonite and soda syenite porphyries. A K-Ar age of 55 m.y. for hornblende and a Pb206/U238 age of 494 m.y. for zircon from diorite porphyry are interpreted as due to incomplete degassing of Precambrian hornblende and the presence of Precambrian ...
