Soil health assessment using buried cotton underpants with the help of 1000 citizen scientists
PLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.Soil is a vital resource for life on Earth. Although many soils are degraded, societal awareness of soil‐related issues is limited. To highlight soil as a key resource and fascinating study system, we initiated a citizen science project together with 1000 participants investigating soil health across Switzerland using buried cotton underpants.

Packaging Technology and Science, EarlyView.Microalgae‐derived bioactive compounds exhibit strong antioxidant and antimicrobial properties and can be incorporated into edible coatings to enhance food quality and shelf life. These materials offer sustainable, biodegradable alternatives to conventional packaging, with promising potential for future scalable food applications.

Acid Resistant and Highly Silver Selective Membranes Based on Charged Nanoporous 2D‐Materials
Small, EarlyView.In this work, new membranes based on charged & nanoporous nanosheets with unprecedented selectivity to silver versus a wide range of other metallic ions are reported. Furthermore, a demonstrated and lead specific intralamellar lead pathway is demonstrated. A potential applicability for ubiquitous silver in WEEE is validated.
