Precipitation seasonality and soil texture interact to shape dryland recovery from severe disturbance

This study examines disturbed vegetation inside, and undisturbed vegetation adjacent to, 5600+ km of natural gas pipelines to understand patterns of NPP and shrub cover recovery in drylands. The short‐finned pilot whale, Globicephala macrorhynchus in the Canary Islands. Stomach contents, trophic markers, skin isotopic ratios of nitrogen (δ15N: 15N/14N) and carbon (δ13C: 13C/12C), and fatty acid profiles of the blubber of a short‐finned pilot whale were analyzed to obtain the insights in their early hunting behavior.

The UV filters in sunscreens are our frontline defense against the harms of ultraviolet radiation. In this paper, we continue the industry's shift toward nature‐inspired, particularly microbial, UV filters by unraveling the fundamental mechanisms of photoprotection in two synthetic analogs of mycosporine‐like amino acids.
