Functional characterization of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar L.) PepT2 transporters. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Physiol, 2022
Abstract figure legend Two genes coding for high‐affinity/low‐capacity system Slc15a2 (PepT2), are present in the Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) genome: slc15a2a and slc15a2b. The two encoded PepT2 proteins share 87% identity and resemble both structurally and functionally the canonical vertebrate PepT2 system.

Fast Phenotypic and Genetic Changes in Life History and Mortality of Experimental Populations of Guppies (<i>Poecilia reticulata</i>) Exposed to Size-Dependent Harvest in a Decade-Long Selection Experiment. [PDF]

open access: yesEvol Appl
ABSTRACT Anthropogenic stressors on wild populations commonly impact large individuals more strongly than small ones. A particularly intense mortality on large individuals occurs during harvesting (fishing and hunting). Strong harvest‐induced, positively size‐dependent mortality leads to smaller size and earlier maturation.

The influence of individual personality traits and team characteristics on training transfer: A longitudinal study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Training and Development, Volume 26, Issue 1, Page 69-101, March 2022., 2022
Abstract Previous research has established that the successful transfer of training content into daily work life depends both on the trainees’ individual characteristics and the characteristics of their work team. Specifically, multiple meta‐analyses and reviews have confirmed that individuals’ openness to experience, agreeableness, and neuroticism, as

SARS‐CoV‐2 infection and venous thromboembolism after surgery: an international prospective cohort study

open access: yesAnaesthesia, Volume 77, Issue 1, Page 28-39, January 2022., 2022
Summary SARS‐CoV‐2 has been associated with an increased rate of venous thromboembolism in critically ill patients. Since surgical patients are already at higher risk of venous thromboembolism than general populations, this study aimed to determine if patients with peri‐operative or prior SARS‐CoV‐2 were at further increased risk of venous ...

Timing of surgery following SARS‐CoV‐2 infection: an international prospective cohort study

open access: yesAnaesthesia, Volume 76, Issue 6, Page 748-758, June 2021., 2021
Summary Peri‐operative SARS‐CoV‐2 infection increases postoperative mortality. The aim of this study was to determine the optimal duration of planned delay before surgery in patients who have had SARS‐CoV‐2 infection. This international, multicentre, prospective cohort study included patients undergoing elective or emergency surgery during October 2020.
