Dynamics of Size and Shape Variation During Embryonic Development in the Balkan Crested Newt
Morphological variance in Triturus ivanbureschi embryos fluctuates during the tailbud phase, coinciding with developmental arrest caused by the balanced lethal system. Prehatching embryos show uniform variance. Our study reveals dynamics of morphological variability during early development and provides a baseline for further studies.
