The innervation of the uterus in Salamandra salamandra (L.) (Amphibia, Urodela)

Cell and Tissue Research, 1983
The innervation of the uterus in the ovoviviparous urodele Salamandra salamandra was studied. In whole mount preparations of the thin-walled uterus of pregnant females, a dense adrenergic network was demonstrated using a modified glyoxylic acid fluorescence technique.

Plasma proteins and morphology of Salamandra salamandra in Israel

Amphibia-Reptilia, 1986
AbstractDifferences between three isolated populations of Salamandra salamandra were examined in this study. It is based on 369 adult specimens which were measured for length and weight. The yellow markings and the quantitative relationship between the black and the yellow areas were compared.

[Homing behavior in Salamandra salamandra (L.)].

Zeitschrift fur Tierpsychologie, 1980
Homing behavior in salamanders (Salamandra salamandra) was studied in the field (52 adults) and in laboratory experiments (75 adult animals). Displacements, occluding of sense organs and experiments with different visual patterns revealed that the home-site orientation is guided by vision.

Electrophysiology and anatomy of direction-specific pretectal units in Salamandra salamandra

Experimental Brain Research, 1984
Pretectal cells of the European fire salamander were recorded extracellularly during binocular and monocular horizontal optokinetic stimulations. The locations of the individual units within the pretectal nucleus were verified with Alcian blue injections.

Localization of fibronectin and beta1 integrin in cultured skin fragments of larvae of salamandra salamandra salamandra.

1995
As part of a study on the pigmentary system of Salamandra salamandra salamandra we cultured skin fragments from 7-10 day old larvae in order to examine the expression of molecules implicated in both cellular adhesion and migration and in regulating the relationships among cells.
