Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.

Advancing in RGB-D Salient Object Detection: A Survey

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The human visual system can rapidly focus on prominent objects in complex scenes, significantly enhancing information processing efficiency. Salient object detection (SOD) mimics this biological ability, aiming to identify and segment the most prominent ...

The Aging Blood: Cellular Origins, Circulating Drivers, and Therapeutic Potential

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
As a conduit linking all organs, the blood system both reflects and actively drives systemic aging. This review highlights how circulating pro‐aging and antiaging factors and age‐associated hematopoietic stem cell dysfunction contribute to immunosenescence and multi‐organ decline, positioning the hematopoietic system as a target for aging intervention.

Data and Model Uncertainty Aware Salient Object Detection

open access: yesIEEE Access
In general, salient object detection (SOD) datasets have ambiguity due to annotation accuracy and human subjectivity in determining saliency. Since this data uncertainty causes inaccurate prediction, many techniques tackling data uncertainty have been ...

Zero-Shot Co-Salient Object Detection Framework

open access: yesICASSP 2024 - 2024 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP)
Co-salient Object Detection (CoSOD) endeavors to replicate the human visual system's capacity to recognize common and salient objects within a collection of images. Despite recent advancements in deep learning models, these models still rely on training with well-annotated CoSOD datasets.
