Effect of Saline Irrigation Water on Alfalfa Growth and Development in Saline–Alkali Soils
Saline irrigation water can enhance agricultural production in water-scarce regions. Alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) is a moderately saline-tolerant legume forage grass, and growing alfalfa in saline–alkali areas under irrigated conditions has high economic

MICROECONOMICS OF IRRIGATION WITH SALINE WATER
Water management and reuse at the field level are analyzed under saline, limited drainage conditions. A function relating crop yield and deep percolation flows to applied water and salinity concentration is developed. This function fits simulated data well and is tractable for theoretical and empirical analysis of irrigation economics.

Irrigation management practices of cabbage farmers in Botswana using saline groundwater. [PDF]
All horticultural production in Botswana is irrigated, as average rainfall is less than average reference evapotranspiration in all parts of the country for all of the year, and most of the irrigation in the country is used for horticultural crops. In

Yield of eggplant using low quality water and pulse drip irrigation [PDF]
The use of saline water and wastewater in agriculture has been increasingly considered, and this is due to the increase in awareness about the conservation of natural resources and population growth, implying a greater demand for food.

Respons of wheat species to irrigation water salinity
This study was conducted to investigate the effects of different irrigation water salinity level on chromosomes and shoots of wheat with three different ploidy level (diploid, tetraploid and hexaploid). Greenhouse experiment revealed that irrigation water salinity level had significant effects on shoot dry weight, root dry weight, shoot ...

Effects of Irrigation with Mixed Saline and Fresh Waters on CO2 Emission from Cotton Fields
【Objective】 In northwestern China, freshwater resources are scarce while saline water is abundant. Irrigation using mixed fresh and saline waters has been adopted as an improved practice to maximize water resource use and sustain agricultural production ...
