AN ECONOMIC EVALUATION OF THE COLORADO RIVER BASIN SALINITY CONTROL PROGRAM [PDF]
Dissolved salts (salinity) adversely affect numerous urban and agricultural users of Colorado River water in California and Arizona. Congress in 1974 authorized a major salinity control program.

Benthic macroalgae of Shark Bay, Western Australia [PDF]
One hundred and sixty one taxa of benthic macro-algae are reported from Shark Bay, Western Australia, growing either on subtidal rock platforms, on the extensive sandflats that dominate the bay, or as epiphytes on seagrasses and other algae.

A bulk activation route to produce nanoporous carbons for atmospheric water harvesting by incorporating potassium hydroxide during resorcinol‐formaldehyde polycondensation. These high‐oxygen sorbents deliver daily water yields up to 23 L kg−1 day−1 with great cyclability, providing a scalable solution for water production in diverse climates.

Smart Antibacterial Coatings: Harnessing Bacterial Redox Activity for Infection Control
In this study, we have shown that ceftazidime‐loaded poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT@CAZ) functions as a smart, redox‐responsive antibacterial coating that couples bacterial electrical activity with localized antibiotic delivery. Shewanella oneidensis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa induced distinct redox responses in PEDOT, reflecting their ...

Sea-level rise drives changes in salinisation patterns in low-lying Bangladesh
In the Bengal delta, a region exemplifying low-lying deltas vulnerable to climate change, rising sea levels are significantly influencing salinisation patterns, posing risk to water security and agriculture.

Salinity Gradient Power: An Unique Renewable Energy Source
The growing global demand for clean and sustainable energy has led to the exploration of unconventional renewable energy sources. One such emerging technology is salinity gradient power, also known as blue energy, which harnesses the chemical potential difference between freshwater and seawater. This paper discusses the principles, methods, efficiency,
