[Treatment of salivary gland calculi by extracorporeal lithotripsy].
Annales d'oto-laryngologie et de chirurgie cervico faciale : bulletin de la Societe d'oto-laryngologie des hopitaux de Paris, 1996This study was designed to evaluate the efficacy of extracorporeal lithotripsy (ECL) in the treatment of salivary stones. In a prospective study, 15 patients suffering from sialolithiasis were treated by applying extracorporeally generated shock waves. No patients needed general anaesthesia, sedatives, or analgesics.

Evaluation of crystallization processes in the calculi of the submandibular salivary glands.
Neuro endocrinology lettersFour patients were subjected to sialolithotomy of the submandibular gland in the Department of Otolaryngology, Collegium Medicum, Jagiellonian University in Cracow. The resected calculi were examined under a scanning electron microscope and chemical analysis of their structure was carried out.
