An Unusual Salivary Gland Tumor Mimicking Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma: Mammary Analog Secretory Carcinoma

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2018
Thyroid tumors usually present as masses in the thyroid gland. While the majority of these tumors represent neoplasms of thyroid tissues, mainly of follicular epithelial cell differentiation, the differential diagnosis includes other lesions, such as C ...

Management of Regional Metastases of Malignant Salivary Gland Neoplasms. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Metastases from salivary gland carcinomas to the cervical lymph nodes are relatively uncommon. However, their impact on prognosis is significant and, thus, it is important to manage them appropriately.

Molecular Pathology of Salivary Gland Neoplasms: Diagnostic, Prognostic, and Predictive Perspective

open access: yes, 2021
Salivary gland neoplasms are an uncommon and widely heterogeneous group of tumors. In recent years, there has been considerable progress in efforts to reveal the molecular landscape of these tumors, although it is still limited and appears to be only the

Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma of Floor of the Mouth – A Rarity [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2015
Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma (MEC) is one of the most commonly occurring malignant salivary gland neoplasm, and contributes 2.8%– 15% of all salivary gland tumours.

Proliferation PET/CT Imaging of Salivary Gland Tumor

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2021
Salivary gland tumors are rare neoplasms which vary in terms of origin and malignant potential. 2-[18F]-fluoro-2-deoxy-d-glucose (FDG)-positron emission tomography (PET) has limited ability to differentiate between different types of salivary gland ...

Does Lack of EWSR1-ATF1 Fusion Exclude Diagnosis of Salivary Gland Clear Cell Carcinoma?

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Cancer, 2021
Introduction: Ewing sarcoma breakpoint region 1- activating transcription factor 1 (EWSR1-ATF1) fusion is mentioned as a diagnostic marker in favor of clear cell carcinoma in the differential diagnosis of clear cell neoplasms of salivary glands. However,

Critical Update on Malignant Salivary Gland Neoplasms

open access: yes, 2017
Salivary gland neoplasms are relatively rare tumors with a wide range of biologic behavior. Early low-grade malignancies could be adequately treated with surgery alone, while larger locally advanced tumors will require adjuvant radiation therapy.

Proteasomal degradation of intracellularly expressed Amblyomin‐X limits suicide gene therapy potential in melanoma cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.

Sclerosing polycystic adenoma of the salivary gland mimicking other salivary gland neoplasms: A series of 3 cases

open access: yesIndian Journal of Pathology and Microbiology
Sclerosing polycystic adenoma is a recently described, rare sclerosing tumor of salivary gland with fibrocystic changes. It was previously called sclerosing polycystic adenosis. This benign tumor closely resembles other salivary gland neoplasms.
