Suppurative minor salivary gland sialolithiasis

Sialolithiasis is a common nonneoplastic disease of the major salivary glands that often affects the submandibular glands. Minor salivary gland involvement by sialolithiasis is uncommon, with only 273 cases reported. A long clinical history, acute symptoms, and mucopurulent discharge are unusual features of these cases.

Different shape but the same topographical complexity—The lingual gross anatomy of the Saimaa (Pusa saimensis) and Baltic ringed seals (Pusa hispida botnica)

Abstract Despite the distinctly different shapes of their tongues, the tongue gross anatomy of Saimaa ringed seal closely resembled that of Baltic ringed seal. There were no differences in the extrinsic and intrinsic tongue muscles or their associated vascularization and innervation between Saimaa and Baltic ringed seals.

Duck Orbivirus and Egg Production: A Newly Identified Duck Orbivirus Is the Etiological Agent of Egg Production Decline in Chinese Breeder Ducks

Field samples from breeder duck farms with egg‐production decline were subjected to viral detection, genome sequencing, and virus isolation. Experimental infection demonstrated that duck orbivirus (DORV) causes a significant and persistent reduction in egg production in breeder ducks.
