The overall levels of knowledge, attitudes, and practices toward rabies in this study were 55.2%, 83.9%, and 42.7%, respectively. Only 21.7% were aware that rabies was fatal once clinical symptoms manifested. Age groups 21–45 and 46–60 have good knowledge, and government officials have lower knowledge.

Bluetongue Virus in Cervids in Piedmont During the 2024‐2025 Outbreak

During the 2024–2025 bluetongue outbreak in Piedmont, 15 hunted cervids (12 red deer and three fallow deer) tested positive for BTV. These cases add to the 1066 infections detected in livestock, indicating the involvement of wild ungulates in viral circulation. Findings suggest the potential role of wild species as sentinel animals.
