Salmonella Paratyphi A: an insight into mechanisms of typhoidal Salmonella pathogenesis
T he human-restricted, typhoidal Salmonella Paratyphi A (S. Paratyphi A) and S. Typhi are the major c auses of enteric (typhoid) fever and are endemic in regions with poor sanitation. Despite the recent i ncreased rate of S. Paratyphi A isolation from patients in Asia, its pathogenesis remains largely u nknown.

Isolation of Salmonella paratyphi A from renal abscess
Intrarenal abscesses remain a significant cause of morbidity and mortality as well as a diagnostic dilemma because a plethora of microorganisms can cause this condition. A definitive diagnosis is made by demonstrating the organisms from the aspirate and the success or failure of therapy depends upon the antimicrobial sensitivity pattern.

Clinical pathogenesis of typhoid fever
Human infections with Salmonella enterica results in two major groups of diseases: gastroenteritis and typhoid fever. Clinical observations suggest that gastroenteritis, caused by non-typhoidal Salmonella serovars, is characterized by a massive ...

Rare Case of Salmonella Paratyphi A Breast Abscess in a Non-Lactating Female
Salmonella species have been known to rarely cause breast abscess. Seeding at distant sites after bacteremia can lead to abscess formation weeks to months after initial infections, thus, posing a diagnostic challenge.
