Gynaecological Endoscopy, 1997 A case is presented in which laparoscopic salpingostomy was performed for unruptured tubal pregnancy. The patient remained well with falling hCG levels until 41 days later, when she developed acute abdominal pain.

Laparoscopic salpingostomy utilizing the CO2 laser
Fertility and Sterility, 1984A new technique for performing a terminal salpingostomy using the CO2 laser via laparoscopy has been developed. This operative procedure is described, and the clinical results of the first 22 patients are reported. A hysterosalpingogram-documented tubal patency rate of 75% was noted 2 months postoperatively.

Ciliogenesis following salpingostomy of rabbit hydrosalpinges
European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology, 1984Twenty-five artificially induced hydrosalpinges were studied in New Zealand white rabbits. Hydrosalpinges had been created after 2-16 wk occlusion of both the fimbrial end and the ampullary isthmic junction (A.I.J.), using either Ethilon 8/0 or tantalum clips. Their diameters ranged from 4 to 12 mm, being larger in the clipped oviducts.

Use of corticosteroids as an adjuvant in terminal salpingostomy
Fertility and Sterility, 1983Between the years 1977 and 1980, 26 women underwent terminal salpingostomy with a standard operative procedure at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The term pregnancy rate was 23%, and the ectopic pregnancy rate was 13%. Fourteen patients received dexamethasone perioperatively; and of these, 3 had term pregnancies (21%).
