Lifetime of the Gas Evolution Electrode of the Zn–H2 Storage System

open access: yesFuel Cells, Volume 26, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT A novel electrically chargeable galvanic system is presented that efficiently stores energy in the form of zinc and releases hydrogen and electricity upon discharge. In this concept, oxygen is released at the gas electrode during charging, and zinc oxide is reduced to metallic zinc at the counter electrode.

Gas impurities in salt cavern hydrogen storage: Formation mechanisms and impacts

open access: yesActa Geochimica
Abstract Hydrogen (H 2 ) is increasingly recognized as a viable low-carbon energy carrier. It can be produced by electrolysis and only emits water when consumed in fuel cells, making it essentially carbon free at the point of use.
