Structural chemistry of naphthalenedisulfonate salts

Inorganica Chimica Acta, 1997
Abstract Salts of naphthalenedisulfonate anions with several different metal cations have been crystallized and their structures determined by single crystal X-ray methods. Crystal data for hexaaquanicke(II) 3-ammonionaphthalene-1,5-disulfonate tetrahydrate, [Ni(H2O)6]-(H3NC10H5(SO3)2)2·4H2O: triclinic, space group P 1 , Z = 1, a = 12.779(3), b =

The chemistry of fluorinated vinamidinium salts

Journal of Fluorine Chemistry, 2000
Abstract β-Polyfluoroalkoxy vinamidinium salts 1 were allowed to react with a variety of Grignard reagents in tetrahydrofuran at room temperature for 3 h, after an acidic workup of the reaction, to produce the corresponding ( Z )-α-polyfluoroalkoxy-α,β-unsaturated aldehydes 2 in good to excellent yields.

The Chemistry of Drying an Aqueous Solution of Salts

The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2009
The fate of salts in drying aqueous solution was investigated. In the drying of acidic solutions, weak acid ions and chloride ions combine with protons and evaporate, depending on the proton concentration. In the drying of alkaline solutions, weak acid ions evaporate or remain as salts depending on the ratio of the concentrations of excess nonvolatile ...

Spanish salt lakes: Their chemistry and biota

Hydrobiologia, 1988
A large number of small saline lakes are distributed throughout Spain. Four main lake districts occur from sea level to 1000 m.a.s.l. Most lakes are temporary because of the arid conditions in the Spanish endorheic areas. Many lakes are situated in Tertiary depressions in NE. and S. Spain.

The Chemistry of Bunte Salts

Angewandte Chemie International Edition in English, 1967
AbstractBunte salts can be obtained, not only from alkyl halides and sodium thiosulfate, but also from compounds containing activated multiple bonds, and sodium thiosulfate. The Bunte salts prepared by the new method, contrary to earlier observations, are cleaved by alkalis into the unsaturated starting compounds and sodium thiosulfate.

Coordination chemistry of actinides in molten salts [PDF]

open access: possibleJournal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry Articles, 1990
The problems of actinide molten salt coordination chemistry are considered in terms of spectroscopic parameters as functions of melt composition and temperature. Parameters connected with energy, intensity and fine structure of 5f-5f transitions have been obtained for molten alkali metal chlorides, fluorides and chloride-fluoride mixtures.

Molten-Salt Reactor Chemistry

Nuclear Applications and Technology, 1970
This document summarizes the large program of chemical research and development which led to selection of fuel and coolant compositions for the Molten-Salt Reactor Experiment (MSRE) and for subsequent reactors of this type. Chemical behavior of the LiF-BeF2-ZrF4-UF4 fuel mixture and behavior of fission products during power operation of MSRE are ...
