Simple assessment of spatio-temporal evolution of salt marshes ecological services [PDF]
A number of previous research studies have addressed the enormous role played by biodiversity and ecosystems in human well-being and have placed particular emphasis on the consequences of the reduction or loss of these services. A handful of studies have

Abstract The 1430s were characterized by extreme weather conditions, food and fodder shortages, and high mortalities among animals and humans, although the severity of events and their consequences in England have received limited attention. The economic downturn and the depressed customary land market in this decade marked the beginning of the Great ...

Despite severe habitat loss, insect species richness, seasonal fluctuations in richness and temporal β‐diversity did not differ significantly among forests adjacent to the mudflow and reference sites. We found higher wet‐season species richness for ants, bees, butterflies and dung beetles, while termites showed no seasonal change; β‐diversity was ...

Minor land‐use changes consistently lead to abrupt biodiversity shifts across all diversity dimensions, favoring generalist dung beetle species while excluding sensitive specialists. These shifts are observed at lower environmental change rates than previously considered, with significant changes apparent after just 25% habitat loss.
