AbstractPrecipitation of poly(acrylic acid) by added salts has been investigated under various conditions. The PAA was neutralized to various degrees of ionization α by tetra‐n‐butyl ammonium hydroxide. The minimum salt concentration C̄s at which precipitation occurs was determined at various polymer concentration Cp, temperature T, and α.

Structural stability of aerobic granules is generally poor during long-term operation. This study precipitated seven salts inside aerobic granules using supersaturated solutions of (NH4)3PO4, CaCO3, CaSO4, MgCO3, Mg3(PO4)2, Ca3(PO4)2 or SiO2 to enhance their structural stability.

The precipitation of precursor tRNA in high salt

The tRNA precursor molecules from HeLa cells are 50% precipitable in two molar NaCl, while the mature tRNAs are almost completely (greater than 95%) soluble. This provides a simple and rapid method for the preparation of pre-tRNA molecules relatively free of their mature tRNA products.
