Sulfation‐Tunable Peptide‐Glycosaminoglycan Hydrogels for Hematopoietic Stem and Progenitor Cell Expansion

Co‐assembly of rationally designed glycosaminoglycan‐binding peptides with sulfated glycosaminoglycans yields supramolecular hydrogels with tunable mechanics and matrix‐mediated cytokine retention. The glycosaminoglycans thereby act as cofactors, driving a coil‐to‐β‐sheet transition that triggers gelation.

Chitin‐Derived Carbon‐Metal Functional Materials

Functional carbon materials are synthesized from combination of biopolymer (chitin) and iron precursors. The resultant material exhibits superior surface area and adsorptive properties compared to carbon materials synthesized directly from pure chitin.

Precipitability of Pentosenucleic Acid by Neutral Salts.

ペントース核酸(PNA)は申性塩の存在により適当な条件の下では溶液から沈殿するという性質を持つことが最近明らかになった。この性質をPNAの精製に利用するための基礎データとして,種々の条件での精製PNA試料の沈殿量を調べた。一般に中性塩の濃度の高いほど沈殿量が多いが,塩化マグネシウム等2価のカチオンを持つものは食塩,硫酸アンモニウム等1価カチオンの塩よりはるかに低濃度でよくPNAを沈殿させる。同一条件でも沈殿量はPNAの試料により異なり,その多少はPNAの分子量の大小と平行していること,低分子量のPNAが混在しているときには沈殿生成が妨げられることがあることが見出された。またデオキシペントース核酸は特殊な場合を除いて上記のような中性塩によっては沈殿しないことをたしかめた。

Roll‐to‐Roll Processable EC/TC Hybrid Smart Windows Driven by a Bidirectional Dual‐Chromic Polymer Electrolyte

We present a scalable EC/TC hybrid smart window using a DCPE that enables tunable solar modulation (ΔTsol:15–43%), fast electrochromic switching (<90 s), and strong thermal blocking (10–14°C reduction). HPMC improves thermal stability, while an optimized ISL enhances EC performance.
