Topotactic synthesis of a new BiS2-based superconductor Bi2(O,F)S2

open access: yes, 2015
A new BiS2-based superconductor Bi2(O,F)S2 was discovered. This is a layered compound consisting of alternate stacking structure of rock-salt-type BiS2 superconducting layer and fluorite-type Bi(O,F) blocking layer.

Rock-disintegration by Salts [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1918
THE reference in NATURE for September 19, p. 50, to Mr. J. T. Jutson's paper dealing with the influence of the crystallisation of soluble salts in promoting the weathering of rocks reminds me of Il Fungo, an isolated mushroom-shaped rock opposite Lacco Almeno, on the north shore of Ischia.

Fatigue properties and damage constitutive model of salt rock based on CT scanning

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mining Science and Technology
To investigate the macroscopic fatigue properties and the mesoscopic pore evolution characteristics of salt rock under cyclic loading, fatigue tests under different upper-limit stresses were carried out on salt rock, and the mesoscopic pore structures of

A Study of Analytical Solution for the Special Dissolution Rate Model of Rock Salt

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2017
By calculating the concentration distributions of rock salt solutions at the boundary layer, an ordinary differential equation for describing a special dissolution rate model of rock salt under the assumption of an instantaneous diffusion process was ...

Hall-effect and resistivity measurements in CdTe and ZnTe at high pressure: Electronic structure of impurities in the zincblende phase and the semi-metallic or metallic character of the high-pressure phases

open access: yes, 2010
We carried out high-pressure resistivity and Hall-effect measurements in single crystals of CdTe and ZnTe up to 12 GPa. Slight changes of transport parameters in the zincblende phase of CdTe are consitent with the shallow character of donor impurities ...

Tuning the Dielectric Properties of Individual Clay Nanosheets by Interlayer Composition: Toward Nano‐Electret Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The dielectric properties of clays are studied on the level of individual monolayers and functional double stacks. The material breakdown characteristics and charge storage performance are analyzed. For illustration, a defined charge pattern representing a cuneiform character is produced, written into a microscopic clay tile, referencing the origins of

Research and development progress of oil and gas storage construction technology in bedded salt rock formation

open access: yesYou-qi chuyun, 2022
The large-scale reserve of oil, gas, and other energy in salt rock formation is a major strategic need to ensure energy security in China. Bedded salt rock in China has typical characteristics: low height of salt layers, fragmentation by interlayers, and
