Mechanically Adaptive Polyimide Interfaces for Stable High‐Voltage NCM–Sulfide All‐Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A mechanically adaptive polyimide interface dynamically stabilizes single‐crystal cathodes in sulfide all‐solid‐state batteries. By integrating robust chemical coordination with viscoelastic compliance, this smart coating suppresses parasitic reactions and accommodates cyclic volume expansion.

Uranium Doped Gallium Nitride Epitaxial Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Uranium was controllably added to gallium nitride using molecular beam epitaxy. The uranium atoms segregated into vertically oriented regions with higher doping levels. Concentrations up to a few percent were achieved without showing significant degradation in the crystalline quality or optical characteristics. Low electrical resistivity was maintained

Advancing Fruit Bioimpedance Monitoring With Sustainable, Soft, And Bio‐Based Electrodes Beyond ECG

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Electrical impedance spectroscopy enables non‐destructive fruit quality monitoring, but conventional ECG and needle electrodes compromise signal stability, fruit physiology, and sustainability. This perspective highlights the transition toward soft, biocompatible, and biodegradable electrode interfaces based on natural substrates, bio‐derived ...

Stress field and safe drilling mud weights in the Shizigou salt system of Yingxiongling, Qaidam Basin, China

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology
In this study, we calculate stress perturbations around the salt diapir in the Shizigou salt system of Qaidam Basin, China, by using a three-dimensional finite element model. Our goal is to identify safe mud weight windows around the salt in this complex

Highly Stabilized Ni‐Rich Cathodes Enabled by Artificially Reversing Naturally‐Formed Interface

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 11, March 18, 2025.
The application of Ni‐rich cathode materials is obstructed by interfacial and structural instability. This work proposes a facile and cost‐effective Al‐based vapor‐phase surface reaction strategy on Ni‐rich cathode to maintain its structural integrity from near‐surface to bulk.

Assessment of the Influence of Formation Conditions of Embankments and Spoil Heaps on Their Stability When Dumped on Clay-Salt Slurries

open access: yesEng
The formation of geotechnical structures on foundations composed of low-strength soils is associated with a number of risks and difficulties. Soils such as clay-salt slurries are characterized by low bearing capacity and a tendency to deform under load ...

Resolving Oxidative and Corrosive Calendar‐Aging via Electrolyte Engineering for Stable Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A weakly solvating ether solvent, 1,2‐dimethoxypropane (DMP), is proposed for use in localized high‐concentration electrolytes (LHCEs) for lithium metal batteries (LMBs). These DMP‐based LHCEs simultaneously suppress lithium metal corrosion and cathode degradation—two interrelated processes that accelerate calendar aging of LMBs.
