SAM-SP: Self-Prompting Makes SAM Great Again [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
The recently introduced Segment Anything Model (SAM), a Visual Foundation Model (VFM), has demonstrated impressive capabilities in zero-shot segmentation tasks across diverse natural image datasets. Despite its success, SAM encounters noticeably performance degradation when applied to specific domains, such as medical images. Current efforts to address

Molecular Domino Toppling for Directed Self‐Erasing Information Transfer

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An azobenzene‐based material with unprecedented light‐pumped directional charge‐transfer reminiscent of toppling dominoes is presented. After light‐induced trans→cis forward isomerization, electron hopping occurs in a sequential and propagating manner between the cis isomers along with an electrocatalytic cis→trans backward isomerization.

Vision and Language Reference Prompt into SAM for Few-shot Segmentation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Segment Anything Model (SAM) represents a large-scale segmentation model that enables powerful zero-shot capabilities with flexible prompts. While SAM can segment any object in zero-shot, it requires user-provided prompts for each target image and does not attach any label information to masks.

Anion‐Cation Synergistic Regulation of Low‐Dimensional Perovskite Passivation Layer for Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The sulfur‐hybridized aniline‐like molecule thiomorpholine (SMOR) forms n = 1 2D perovskite and is preferred to transfer into 1D perovskite instead of high n‐valued 2D perovskite after aging. Due to larger formation energy, chlorine anion is better than iodine anion to accelerate the formation of 1D phase.

Omni‐Directional Assembly of 2D Single‐Crystalline Metal Nanosheets

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A versatile assembly method is developed to uniformly assemble 2D single‐crystal copper nanosheets (Cu NS) onto substrates with complex shapes via ultrasonication process. This technique leverages cavitation effects to deposit monolayer Cu NS films with minimal overlap.

Revealing Trapped Carrier Dynamics at Buried Interfaces in Perovskite Solar Cells via Infrared‐Modulated Action Spectroscopy with Surface Photovoltage Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A new spectroscopy technique (i.e., pump‐push‐surface photovoltage) is introduced that monitors trapped carrier dynamics at the buried interfaces in perovskite solar cells (PeSCs) via combining optical trap activation by infrared light with surface photovoltage detection.

Academic Achievement for Fifth-Grade Students in Elementary and Intermediate School Settings: Grade Span Configurations

open access: yesCurrent Issues in Education, 2011
Few researchers have addressed student achievement outcomes as a function of grade configurations for older elementary-aged students. Thus, this study was designed to determine differences between students’ Grade 5 reading and mathematics achievement ...
