Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

SAM: the school attachment monitor [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 19th ACM International Conference on Multimodal Interaction, 2017
Secure Attachment relationships have been shown to minimise social and behavioural problems in children and boosts resilience to risks later on such as antisocial behaviour, heart pathologies, and suicide. Attachment assessment is an expensive and time-consuming process that is not often performed.

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

In Vitro Effect of Neopterin on Splenic Mast Cell Development in Senescence Accelerated Mice (SAM)

open access: yesPteridines, 2007
Neopterin is produced by monocytes and is a useful biomarker of inflammatory responses. We found that neopterin enhances granulopoiesis, but suppresses B-lymphopoiesis triggered by the positive- and negative regulations of cytokines produced by stromal ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Polyp-SAM: transfer SAM for polyp segmentation

open access: yesMedical Imaging 2024: Computer-Aided Diagnosis
Colon polyps are considered important precursors for colorectal cancer. Automatic segmentation of colon polyps can significantly reduce the misdiagnosis of colon cancer and improve physician annotation efficiency. While many methods have been proposed for polyp segmentation, training large-scale segmentation networks with limited colonoscopy data ...

Increasing the Efficiency of Mobile Robot Navigation Using Slam with Several Advanced Algorithms and Filters

open access: yesJournal of Mechanical Engineering
Several algorithms such as A*, Dijkstra, SLAM (Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping) and APF (Artificial Potential Field) were used in this study to create local maps, plan the shortest path, and localize mobile robots.

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 regulates cell adhesion and membrane protrusive activity of ovarian cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.
