Glycollates of samarium reactions of samarium isopropoxide with glycols
Inorganica Chimica Acta, 1967Abstract The reactions of samarium isopropoxide with glycols e.g., ethylene glycol (ethane 1,2-diol) propylene glycol (propane 1,3-diol),1,2 dimethyl ethylene glycol (butane 2,3-diol), hexylene glycol (2 methyl pentane 2,4-diol), neopentyl glycol, and pinacol 2,3 dimethyl butane 2,3-diol) in equimolecular ratios have been carried out in benzene.

THE discovery that the radioactivity of potassium is due to a minor isotopic constituent, suggests the idea that other common elements may also have radioactive isotopes present in small amounts. This line of thought induced us to investigate the properties of samarium and we found this element to be markedly radioactive.

Samarium Diiodide/Samarium-Mediated Deoxygenative Hydrosilylation of Ketones
The Journal of Organic ChemistryThe first deoxygenative hydrosilylation of ketones promoted by samarium diiodide and samarium has been reported. In this approach, secondary alkyl silanes are synthesized from unactivated ketones and chlorosilanes in one step. The carbonyl group of ketones is activated by SmI2-mediated single-electron transfer process, which follows a deoxygenative ...

Samarium Diiodide/Samarium‐Mediated Deoxygenative Hydroborylation of Aldehydes
European Journal of Organic ChemistryAbstractA samarium diiodide/samarium‐mediated direct deoxygenative hydroborylation of aldehydes with hydroborate ester has been reported. In this method, unactivated aldehydes and hydroborate ester have been employed as starting materials for the synthesis of primary alkyl borate esters.

Photodisintegration of samarium
Il Nuovo Cimento, 1956In order to study the photodisintegration of Sm induced by irradiation with X-rays, discs of pressed Sm2O3 were exposed to the irradiation with X-rays from the 22 MeV Betatron of the Laboratrio de Fisica Nuclear of the University of Sao Paulo. In the present paper the results of the experiments are related.
